China Fires Salvo of Sanctions at U.S. After Targeting Taiwan Over Pelosi Visit

China’s foreign ministry on Friday announced specific sanctions against the U.S. in response to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan earlier this week.
The measures include imposing sanctions on Pelosi and her immediate family, severing certain lines of communication with the U.S. military and suspending cross-border cooperation on judicial and climate change matters, according to two statements issued by the ministry.
