China on Thursday issued finalized guidelines to regulate the country’s generative artificial intelligence (AI) industry, as Chinese tech giants continued their fevered pursuit to capitalize on the emerging technology.

Providers of generative AI services should carry out a security review and register their algorithms with the government, according to the rules released by seven government agencies.
