Politburo Highlights Growth, Reform in Government Work Plan

China’s top leadership stressed efforts to promote development and deepen reform at a meeting to draft the government’s work agenda for the year.

The Communist Party’s 24-member Politburo met Thursday to discuss the draft of the government work report to be presented to national lawmakers next week, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

The report, which outlines the government’s work plan and policy targets for the new year, will be delivered by Premier Li Qiang and voted on during the annual gathering of the National People’s Congress starting March 5.
